Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre

The Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre (AELEC) is a multi-building and stadium complex that was envisioned for equestrian usage. It consists of two indoor stadiums, stables, and a training center, which is situated on the New England Highway approximately 5 kilometers south of the Tamworth CBD in Hillvue.

The center, is an impressive landmark for New England Highway traffic. This complex seats more than 4,000 people, and is considered the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.

Tamworth is famous for being the National Equine Capital of Australia due to its sheer high volume of equine events that are held in the city every year and the presence of several equine organisation offices and numerous breeding and training establishments in the vicinity.

Tamworth Marsupial Park and Adventure Playground

Hand feed, walk and talk with native animals at this fun filled animal park.

This well tended bush oasis boasts a variety of native animals, a free flight aviary, bush walking tracks and the newly established Adventure Playground.

The Adventure Playground combines two age appropriate areas designed by Tamworth’s children.

Nundle Woollen Mill

Nundle Woollen Mill is located in Oakenville Street in the historic village of Nundle, 60 kilometres south of Tamworth

Visitors can marvel at antique machines humming away as they work their magic to turn bales of the finest Australian merino wool into yarns in the vibrant colours for which the mill is famous.

A visit to the Mill is a chance to reconnect with Australia’s wool heritage and browse yarns, clothing and accessories.

The Mount Misery Mine Museum, Nundle

Take a step back in time and find out how gold was once mined and sold in the area.

The Mount Misery Gold Mine Museum features a 150 meter underground mine tunnel and is packed with mining and gold rush memorabilia.

The Museum gives you an authentic taste of the life and trials of the pioneers to the gold fields above Nundle. It includes historic gold panning and mining equipment plus newspaper extracts from the gold rush era, which show you the local characters and events occurring in Nundle during the time.

Volcania Art Glass has a large range of quality glassware from sculptural items, tableware, lamps, bowls and suncatchers made by Mark and Linda Floyd.

Volcania Art Glass incorporates the Nundle Art Gallery and showcases the works of local and regional artists in many different mediums. Regular workshops are conducted at the gallery by Mark and Linda and visiting artists.
